TechnologyConni Bed Pad and Mattress Pad for Incontinence ManagementConni produces the industry-leading, cost effective, super-absorbent, multi-layered bed pad for both child bed wetting and adult incontinence. The Conni Bed Pad is quick to absorb moisture, move and lock moisture away from the surface and center of the pad so that the user remains dry and comfortable. ![]() Take Care!!! All brands of bed pads and re-usable products for continence products are not the same! Many products selected for use on hospital beds are not absorbent enough. 64% of acute nursing time is taken up with continence issues. Conni Bed Pads have a guaranteed absorbent capacity that reduces the need for repeated bed changes and provides increased nursing time for other issues. Our products are designed with 'non-piling' surface fabric, which is critical for skin integrity, particularly in aged or critical care. Absorbency and Fluid RetentionWe guarantee your satisfaction with our bed pads. The Conni bed pad is lightweight and has fantastic fluid holding capacity of up to 2,500 ml (i.e. 0.66 gallons) over an eight-hour period. You and your loved one can sleep easy knowing the bed is protected and their delicate skin is safe. Our guarantee is based on the superiority of our bed pads, which surpass all the industry standards for absorbency. The National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) sets the standards for the performance of re-usable absorbent bed pads. According to NATA standards the most important areas of performance for bed pad, chair pads and products for incontinence are;Speed of absorption: how quickly the moisture passes through the top layer of the pad. The faster this happens the greater the comfort level. Rate of spread: how quickly the moisture disperses to the outer perimeter of the pad. The faster moisture moves from the centre of the pad, the drier it feels. Surface wick back: the percentage of moisture passing back up through the top of the pad under pressure. This varies according to body weight. The lower the percentage (or the less amount of moisture, the better). We outperform the industry in all three categories: see the graph below.

NB Each batch of Conni products is performance-tested through a NATA accredited independent textile laboratory. This process acts as an endorsement of our products to guarantee our customers we are committed to quality. Suitability for Sensitive SkinConni products for incontinence have been manufactured with delicate skin in mind. Conni bed pads are suitable to be used directly against the skin of babies and the elderly person even if they have nappy rash or other skin damage. Conni bed pads are kind to sensitive skins in three ways. The bed pad: 1. draws urine away quickly and keep it locked away thus the skin stays dry which keeps it healthy, 2. has a soft quilted top layer, which stays smooth and will not wrinkle or pill thus protecting the skin from mechanical irritation, 3. is free from harmful chemicals. Free from Harmful ChemicalsThere is widespread concern about the use of toxic substances in fabrics that go directly on the skin because of their negative and sometimes long-term, effects on health. Unlike many incontinence products our Bed Pads are free of anti-bacterial chemicals and fragrances. According to Dr Sarah Lantz, University of Queensland, these chemicals, for example, are toxic and should be avoided: formaldehyde, phthalates, sodium lauryl Sulfate, Cocomide, DEA, Propylene Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone and Diethanolamine. The Conni range does not contain these harsh chemicals and they are not used in our dyeing and finishing factory. Dr Lantz recommends that consumers should always look for certification from a recognized accrediting agency.

The undersurface of the bed pad is slightly ‘grippy’ which means that tuck-in flaps are not needed. Conni bed pads are easy to remove and wash without stripping the bed. They come with optional tuck-in flaps for single and king single beds if the person is a very restless sleeper. Conni Bed Pads are easy to use, easy care and quick drying. Just wash and tumble or line-dry like you would your normal sheets. Do not use talcum powder, barrier cream, bleaches or fabric softeners. We recommend washing using an oxygenated washing agent like Napisan.Conni Bed Pad can be re-used hundreds of times. Our Bed Pads are easy to care for and resilient to frequent machine washing and tumble-drying. Each batch of Conni bed pads is laboratory-tested during laundry at 80°C across 5 wash/dry cycles. The team at Conni understands the rigors of textiles in commercial laundry environments and our aim is to provide a cost-effective product that will perform in these conditions-again and again. Please note that unlike some other bed pads, Conni Bed Pads do not need to be laundered to activate their absorbency: this represents significant cost savings to the laundry.
